The treatment plant for containers with metal cage, mainly plastic and ferrous metals, with a twin-shaft shredder, has been active for some weeks in Northern Italy.
The containers are HDPE containers with a volume of about 1 cubic meter which, inserted in a metal cage, are used in many industrial sectors (from oil+gas to food, medical, chemical, etc.) for the storage and transport of liquids or similar materials.
The model acquired by the customer is a twin-shaft shredder of the TR2A400 series with 2-blade knives 75 mm thick and a grinding chamber of 1.50 meters.
The containers are a type of material for which it is recommended to use a special hopper, called angled, so that the material, with its typical cubic shape, can slide inside the machine at a 45-degree angle relative to the interaxis of the blades, thus facilitating their grip.
The CAMEC plant is capable of treating up to 40 containers per hour, followed by the separation of the ferrous metal.
