CAMEC designs and builds turnkey plants, fully customised, for shredding electric cables and separating their component materials, with a process aimed at maximum copper recovery.
CAMEC Shredding and Screening Plant for Copper Cables 20 ton/h
The CAMEC process reduces the material in two stages: the GSR480 single-shaft shredder performs a first size reduction of the cables, while the MG800 granulator refines it into fine granulate ready for separation; between the two stages, an overband separator intercepts residual ferrous metals.
A TBR horizontal turbine refines the particle size and pneumatically conveys the material to two densimetric tables, which dry-separate the copper from the insulation thanks to a vibrating deck and an adjustable counter-current airflow. The process achieves copper purity of up to 98%, with separate collection of the fractions in dedicated big bags.
