How it works

CAMEC Hospital Waste Plant

Description

Patented TT sterilisation at high temperature

CAMEC plants for hospital waste treatment are custom-built to the customer's specifications, applying the most advanced technologies in shredding and sterilisation. The patented TT (Thermal Time) system subjects each infectious waste stream to a high-temperature sterilisation cycle, neutralising pathogens and leaving the material dry, safe and ready for disposal. The GSR480 single-shaft shredder reduces the waste to a homogeneous particle size, which is then conveyed via a hermetically sealed stainless-steel screw conveyor to the sterilisation stage.

Clean emissions, compliant with the strictest regulations

A post-combustor removes odours and vapours generated during the process, thermally oxidising volatile organic compounds between 600°C and 1,000°C; HEPA filters and activated carbon complete the air treatment. These plants are compact in size and efficient in their final result, in full compliance with the strictest regulations on the sterilisation and disposal of hazardous healthcare waste.
