MSW Sorting Plant

CAMEC designs and builds turnkey MSW sorting plants that precisely separate the components of unsorted waste, recovering value from every recyclable fraction and minimising landfill waste.

MSW Sorting Plant

How it works

CAMEC MSW Sorting Plant

Description

Patented bag opening and screening

The process begins with automatic bag opening via the patented AS450 bag opener, whose tearing action exploits the different rotation speeds of its two rotors to achieve a breaking effect and self-cleaning operation. The VD12/31 disk screen separates the material by size, distinguishing the organic fraction from the dry fraction, while a magnetic separator extracts ferrous metals.

Maximum recovery, minimum landfill waste

Manual sorting takes place in an air-conditioned cabin with 8 workstations, with large windows for visibility and an emergency stop button for each operator. The sorted material is stored in automatic bunkers and baled ready for delivery to recycling plants; the non-recyclable dry fraction is recovered as SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel). Each plant is designed, sized and built to measure according to the specific needs of the area in which it operates.

  • Patented AS450 bag opener, with dual-speed rotors and self-cleaning system
  • VD12/31 disk screen for dimensional separation of the material
  • Air-conditioned sorting cabin with 8 workstations, with dedicated emergency stop button
  • Magnetic separation of ferrous metals
  • Automatic storage bunker and horizontal baler for bale formation
  • Recovery of the non-recyclable dry fraction as SRF
