Tyre Plant

From end-of-life tyres (ELT), CAMEC plants obtain secondary raw material in different particle sizes, while recovering the steel and textile fibre contained in the tyre carcass.

How it works

CAMEC ELT Shredding Plant (End of Life Tyres)

Description

From cutting to chipped rubber in a single plant

Treatment is carried out in four stages, which can be combined into a single solution or split into separate steps according to the customer's needs. The TR2A two-shaft shredder, with two independently driven hexagonal shafts, begins the initial cutting of the tyre, adjustable according to blade thickness; a daisy screen classifies the material by size, sending oversize back to the shredder. The GS650 single-shaft shredder then turns the cut material into 20 mm chipped rubber, from which the first ply and steel residues are separated.

Recovered steel with purity of up to 99%

A further shredding stage reduces the chipped rubber to powder, refining the separation of the remaining residues; a magnetic pulley continuously collects the ferrous metals. The cycle ends with the final cleaning of the recovered steel, which reaches a purity of 99%.

  • TR2A two-shaft shredder for primary cutting
  • Daisy screen with automatic diversion of oversize material
  • GS650 single-shaft shredder for producing 20 mm chipped rubber
  • Magnetic pulley for continuous collection of ferrous metals
  • Further shredding to powder with separation of residual ply and steel
  • Recovered steel purity of up to 99%
